ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses an interview of Mr. Hiroshi Kadono, a chosen legal professional, ended his career as a public servant as one of the presiding judges in the Tokyo High Court. The Tokyo High Court is one of the most prestigious courts of all the eight High Courts, and because of his professional background, he was looked upon and regarded as a person of great ability and talent. The Law Department of Kyoto University, along with Tokyo University, has produced the largest number of judges as an elite university. The people all around him in the Training Institute told Mr. Kadono that he would make a good judge, and he himself felt that, too. He thought that it would suit him well to listen to people's advocacy and make a decision rather than to become an attorney or a prosecutor to be a party to a suit.
