ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses an interview of Judge Chaiwat Suriwattanakul regarding his career. He was working in a public organization that helped people in many areas of Thailand and had experience in academic work as well. At the time of interview, he was working in a juvenile and family court in one province located in northeast of Thailand. Harsh crime control is already being practiced in Thailand, death penalty for drug dealer for example, but drugs are still widespread in our society. The addition of new judges in judicial system jeopardizes the morale of judges by reducing motivation in work and increases the pressure for personnel in competing within the organization for their career progress. The interviewee asserted that there should be an institution for the purpose for people who study in law in general, so people who are entering work in judicial system would already be cultivated in good morality and virtue in their education.
