ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of a field trip during the Management Accounting course for undergraduate students from the Accounting Program at the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Sriwijaya. Questionnaires were distributed to 65 students who took the course. This study examines the difference in the level of knowledge among the students in the Accounting Program at Universitas Sriwijaya before and after completing a field trip to PT. Semen Baturaja, Palembang. The hypotheses were tested using a paired sample t-test. The result shows that there is a difference in the average number of correct answers given by students to questionnaires before and after the field trip. This research takes social cognitive theory as its starting point. The study focuses only on the students who took the Management Accounting course at Palembang Campus and joined the field trip and cannot be generalized for other subjects. To broaden the applicability of the results, it is recommended that a different sample is used, and the study is replicated in other types of industries or sectors, such as banking services.
