ABSTRACT

Pharmaceutical items have been widely used in many fields, for example, medicine, industry, the cultivation of domesticated animals, aquaculture, and people's day-to day lives. Regarding environmental pollution concerns, the levels of pharmaceuticals released into the earth from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) may negatively affect the biological community. Pharmaceutical compounds can be introduced into the environment through several pathways, including human sources such as deliberate disposal, the flushing of old solutions, health center waste, and WWTP effluent. Hospitals have been identified as a key source of pharmaceuticals that can circulate as important micro-pollutants. Hospital wastewater can represent a health hazard to people, particularly workers at WWTPs. More reviews are needed to determine the correct reasons and to provide potential techniques to manage the removal of low levels of pharmaceutical products from wastewater. The pharmaceutical business uses a wide collection of wastewater treatment and transfer methods.
