ABSTRACT

To improve students’ mathematics creativity, a comprehensive learning framework is needed. This was an experimental research study with one group pretest/post-test design to study the profile of learning which is effective in developing students’ mathematics creativity. The research sample consists of two classrooms, selected using a simple cluster random sampling technique, with six homogenous classrooms of Grade VIII students from State Junior High School 26 Makassar. The instruments used were pretest and post-test related to mathematics creativity. The collected data was then analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The research result showed that the profile of learning which is effective in developing students’ mathematics creativity consists of seven phases, that is: (1) Introduction, (2) Understanding, (3) Synthesis, (4) Creation, (5) Interaction, (6) Reflection, and (7) Extension, abbreviated as IUSCIRE. The results of this study enhanced the teachers’ Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) and the students’ learning process and achievement.
