ABSTRACT

The northern region of the department of Cauca in Colombia is made up of 13 municipalities that have historically been victims of the armed conflict, involving situations such as an inadequate distribution of land, forced displacement, and commercial informality, among others. Of these municipalities, nine have been prioritized by the United Nations as keys to work post conflict in Colombia. Among the difficulties in initiating this support is the weakness of the agricultural producers in the area because the greatest activity is carried out by smallholders with low market power. National and international organizations focus their resources toward the development of the incipient agro-chains of the region, and for this, they require the prioritization of these supply chains to take advantage of the use of these resources. Based on the multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA), the aim is to provide a ranking of the agro-chains that best represent this region of the country.
