ABSTRACT
The Arctic is experiencing a period of intense and accelerating change (CAFF, 2013) and in the past century average temperatures have increased at almost twice the average global rate (IPCC, 2007). The scale and pace of these changes is exerting major influences on Arctic ecosystems and it has become increasingly important to find a way in which these ecosystems can be sustainably managed (CAFF, 2013).
