Marine low voltage and high voltage main switchboard are designed for carrying out the control of single run or parallel run of the AC generators according to demand for the electric load on board. It is are assembly of switching controls, regulating devices, measuring instruments, indicator lamps, and protective devices and distributes electric power to the various loads on board (Zhang 2013). These equipments completely protect the electric equipments by respective systems in case of electric accident. They are dead-front type, is sturdy as constructed with steel plates and angle bars, is designed for easy inspection and maintenance. The inspection and maintenance of the instruments inside can be easily carried out by opening the front door or rear cover (MV COSCO BELGIUM 2013).
