ABSTRACT

This chapter reviews some of the research on the benefits of Anredera cordifolia as an herbal medicine in preclinical studies. Anredera cordifolia is considered a major problem in some areas. In Australia and African forests, these plants are strictly regulated because they are invasive and can harm native plants in those countries. Anredera cordifolia has been used traditionally to treat many diseases around the world. Various parts of Anredera cordifolia, such as the leaf, stem and tuber, have been used traditionally to treat many diseases. Numerous studies have been conducted to prove the antibacterial properties of Anredera cordifolia. Anredera cordifolia has down a highly beneficial effect as an anti-hyperlipidaemic. C. T. Horng et al. investigated the effect of Anredera cordifolia on gastric mucosal protection. Anredera cordifolia contains several active compounds, and preclinical trials have shown that some of these can be isolated and then developed into new medicine. Anredera cordifolia has shown polypharmacological activities in preclinical study.
