ABSTRACT

Traditional medicine alludes to health practices, methodologies, learning and convictions incorporating plant, animal and mineral based medications, spiritual treatments, manual strategies and activities, connected independently or together to treat, analyse and counteract ailments or look after prosperity. Unregulated or incorrect use of traditional medicine prescriptions and practices can have negative or perilous impacts. While India, China, Korea, Vietnam and some other countries have incorporated traditional medicine into their medicinal healthcare frameworks, numerous nations have yet to gather and incorporate institutionalised proof on this kind of healthcare. The Central Council of Indian Medicine is a statutory body constituted under the Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970. India has an ancient system of Ayurvedic medicine that gives an abundance of data on old folklore and traditional aspects of remedially vital natural products. Interdisciplinary research, standardisation, quality control and validation of Ayurvedic medicine is needed to establish a knowledge base to meet global standards.
