ABSTRACT

During the years 2008 to 2010 it has been constructed in Spain the new railway line of high velocity trains, which will connect Valladolid with the northwest of Spain.

One of the first phases comprises the connection of provinces Valladolid and León with a train of 220 km/h of speed. The section Río Cea-Bercianos del Real Camino with 10.5 Km of length comprises 5 great viaducts from 36 to 442 meters with an inversion of 22 million Euros and it will cross the provinces of Valladolid and León in direction to Galicia on the Northwest of Spain.

The present paper exposes the project and construction of one of the most singular viaducts in this phase which crosses above the existing motorway M-31, with a very acute angle of 20º. The solution has been a skew bridge called in Spanish terminology “in pergola” with a length of 153 m.
