ABSTRACT

This paper explores the feasibility of using a composite deck system with Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Lightweight Aggregate Concrete (HFRLAC), shear studs on Orthotropic Steel Deck (OSD) to reconstruct the Zhicheng Yangtze River Combined Highway-Railway Bridge(HRCB), without disrupting train traffic. The mix of HFRLAC were introduceed. The fatigue test for the scale model of composite deck pavement was carried out under equivalent loading. The Finite Element Analysis(FEA) was conducted based on the simplified deck pavement. The field tests results and service condition have proved the maintenance for the HRCB is effective since 2013.
