ABSTRACT
This paper describes two new technologies, Bridge Information Modelling (BrIM) and Augmented Reality (AR), which fit into the cyber-physical devices and cloud computing ideology of Industry 4.0. The rapid development of such technologies will have a significant impact on the design, construction, use, and management of transportation infrastructure, including bridges. This paper highlights difficulties in implementing BrIM technology for infrastructure projects and modelling of bridges. It also shows details of a new concept for inspection of bridges based on BrIM and AR.
