ABSTRACT

Brunei Temburong Link is one of the largest infrastructure projects currently being constructed in South-East Asia. It is a 30km dual 2-lane road link which will connect the main Brunei districts of Muara, Tutong and Belait with the isolated district of Temburong which is separated by the Malaysian state of Sarawak. The link comprises of approximately 3km of tunnels, viaducts and at-grade road on land, 14km of marine viaduct across Brunei Bay, two navigation channel cable stay bridges and 12 km of swamp crossing viaduct. The paper will describe the feasibility study and detail design of the Link focussing on the unique construction of the swamp forest viaduct.
