ABSTRACT

The application of ideas of closed automated control systems in terms of low level to develop a system for traffic flow control within the small area of transport scheme is under consideration. In this context, the system of traffic flow control is a regulator of the average traffic flow intensity with the use of feedback principle. Conditions connected with transition of traffic flows to automated control as well as a criterion of control effectiveness are substantiated. Dependences of cycles of traffic lights at the junctions on a control signal have been determined if the crossing efficiency is high. An algorithm for automated control of traffic flows has been proposed; its efficiency has been tested with the help of a computational experiment.
