ABSTRACT

The contribution proposes innovative methods for definition and design of tools, equipment and manual workplaces for automobile assembly tasks, through the definition of a virtual production process. The ergonomic approach promotes the increase of worker’s welfare and the entire system’s performance by improving general safety conditions.

Currently there is digital transformation in progress that covers all aspects of social and economic life and triggers virtuous processes of innovation, Industry 4.0, through which manufacturing industry aims mainly to generate the required value to address major contemporary competitive challenges and the new industrial contexts become dynamic and flexible.

Characterized by a multidisciplinary value, the research addresses the topic of Industry 4.0 with particular reference to the discipline of design and how to create the added value to design innovative systems and services, supported by technology, through the use of software of visualization and 3D with simulation of a production process at different stages, taking into account the main aspects of production.

The research contribution is to frame, starting from current ergonomic analysis models and the innovative approaches of the industrial production chain process, new models of analysis, development and testing for the configuration of ergonomic processes that improve and facilitate the human-machine interaction. Through the transfer of experience and knowledge in the factory system, key factors for the company and for the sustainability of the levels of worker’s welfare, will move to the definition and optimization of the manufacturing process in a virtual environment, in order to anticipate any mistakes in the reality and therefore minimizing times and production costs.
