ABSTRACT

Conventional construction methods mainly use bonded construction materials such as brick walls including mortar and plastering. With a view to circular economy these conventional methods are disadvantageous, because lots of losses occur while capturing and processing of these combined materials to useful recycled material. So-called design for deconstruction is an innovative method to omit these problems. The paper on hand displays a construction method, where building elements are combined without any chemical bond. This makes buildings capable for disassembly at the end of their life and, therefore provides the potential to increase the recycling material flow supporting circular economy.
