ABSTRACT

Health and well-being are becoming a global issue for countries, multi-national employers and other stakeholders who are focusing on the health and productivity/performance of their populations. Primary care physicians, including general practitioners, family practitioners, general internal medicine and pediatricians, are very important in health-system efforts for health promotion and disease management globally. The Health Risk Appraisal is a questionnaire used for over 40 years and completed by an individual in order to identify their health risk factors that may lead to health conditions and diseases. Mental health disorders have a peak onset of incidence in the working-age population and therefore have a significant impact on an individual’s productivity during the peak of a person’s career. Technology to support the healthcare of populations includes the internet and mobile, telemedicine and video technologies. Such technologies can increase a patient’s access to healthcare providers, support health and lifestyle change and potentially reduce the costs of healthcare.
