ABSTRACT

146In the electrospinning process, polymer nanofibers are formed by subjecting a fluid jet to a high electric field. An investigation of electrically forced jet and its instability will be studied in this chapter. Frame work is based on a developed theory for electrified fluid jets. The process can be described by a small set of operating parameters and summarized through their relationship equations. The nonaxisymmetric dispersion relation has also been compared to special cases, for example, inviscid jets without surface charge or perfect conductors.
