ABSTRACT

Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) is a spectroscopic method that is widely used to study the intermolecular interaction between polymers. In this chapter, the qualitative analysis of FTIR for poly(ethylene oxide)/poly(methyl methacrylate) (PEO/PMMA) based polymer electrolytes are discussed in details. This chapter starts with the discussion on thermal studies of PEO, PMMA, and its blend followed by the qualitative analysis of FTIR for the systems. In this part, the details on step-by-step guidelines, sample of work and discussion focused on deconvolution of absorbance bands for PEO/PMMA systems are presented.
