ABSTRACT

Most bridges in Brazil were built during the sixties. These bridges are aging without any kind of assessment or preventive maintenance. Due to the lack of maintenance, many accidents have been caused; however, this situation can be reversed. The understanding of deterioration problems is crucial for an adequate maintenance. In such a context, determining the most frequent anomalies is an important step for the improvement of infrastructure policies. This paper intends to investigate the types of anomalies and the related repair methods that appear in concrete bridges. The article presents a systematic literature review: 97 academic articles and 48 scientific magazines were analyzed. The goal was to extract from the papers the most recurrent pathologies in concrete bridges and the correlated repair methods.
