ABSTRACT

To understand how healthcare companies are evolving to a digital workplace and the role of intelligent search in that effort, interviews are conducted with employees of several companies, including a highly diverse Fortune 50 Healthcare Company. Sixty-five percent of executives surveyed rated the overwhelmed employee an urgent or important trend in a recent Deloitte research report, Global Human Capital Trends: Engaging the 21st Century Workforce. The current transformation of search—including analytics and machine learning—will connect everyone with the information they need to do their work, everywhere, and regardless of form factor. The organization's bottom-up approach to deployment and broad, secure connectivity leverage intelligent search techniques to help employees to better connect and innovate. A tenet of the digital workplace is engagement, via consumer-like experiences with data. Important to both agility and quality, the ability to tune the relevance of results and the transparency of that relevance seem to be the most important factors for adoption and success of intelligent search.
