ABSTRACT

Objective: Molecular biology provides opportunities to develop new strategies or agents for the treatment of a wide variety of diseases. The overall response of the tooth to injury represents the complex interplay between injury, defense, and regenerative processes. Methods: One-visit endodontic treatment was initiated on tooth 11 with irreversible pulpitis due to trauma. Result: Direct damage caused by injury or via exotoxin produced by microbes leads to the release of mediators that increase vascular permeability. Growth factors play a pivotal role in signaling the events of tissue formation and repair in the dentin–pulp complex. In our case study, the patient presented with irreversible pulpitis and no complaint was made after the treatment. Conclusion: Before the selection of treatment, it is important to know about the molecular biology of the diagnosis. Therefore, one-visit endodontic treatment on tooth 11 with a proper diagnosis can give the best result.
