ABSTRACT

This chapter looks at the nature of intangible assets, not just knowledge but related intangibles including data, information, and wisdom or intelligence. It evaluates the multiple firms in multiple industries; the low-level, individual employee approaches do not really work. The chapter defines the Intelligence, signifies organizations seeking unique, creative insights from analytical techniques. It examines that the specific empirical data included the general descriptions and, as a whole, can be used to identify, quantify, and explains the intangibles capabilities and related domains in different industry sectors. The chapter demonstrates how to do so in specific industry sectors and, by individual firms. It describes how a firm's intangibles competencies translate into success in its industry sector as well as other directions for potential growth. The explosive growth of interest in Big Data and analytics has caught the attention of knowledge management researchers and practitioners. Intangible dynamics are situational and call for different approaches.
