ABSTRACT

In order to improve the power performance of an engine, oxygen is produced with pressure swing adsorption and mixed with the air from the original intake pipe to realise oxygen-enriched air intake of the engine. A pressure swing adsorption device is designed based on the volume range of air intake at different oxygen/air ratio. The air intake system of the four-cylinder gasoline engine is modeled with GT-Power. Optimisation of air-fuel ratio and valve timing is carried out. During the process of optimisation, oxygen/air ratio and the maximum torque at different working points are taken as the optimisation parameter and the optimisation target respectively. Finally the optimisation results show that torque of the engine at middle and high speed is increased.
