ABSTRACT

Wire hydraulic tube is a vital part of the transmission lines, at the same time; it is an element that causes defects and faults easily. Once broken, it will lead directly to the falling of the conductor; hence a series of serious secondary disasters may occur. The operating condition of electric transmission line is very complex. Meteorological conditions and running conditions of the lines could cause the rise and fall of the hydraulic tubes’ temperature. In this paper, we use the heat balance equation to study the factors that affect the heat dissipation of the crimp tube. We put the focus on the heating of the different locations rather than the overall of the strain clamp. The study also analyzes the influence of load on temperature distribution of crimp joint.
