ABSTRACT

This study proposes a vehicle guidance data-based method for supplementing incomplete data of traffic flow in hazy conditions. An urban traffic monitoring system was used to determine the completeness of traffic flow data. The incomplete traffic flow data were classified according to road network location. A GPS was used to identify vehicle position and obtain guidance data. The guidance data were to be used in supplementing the incomplete traffic flow data. The useful vehicle guidance data were retained. A statistical vehicle guidance data method was established to generate traffic flow data under hazy conditions. The traffic flow data were obtained and entered into the urban traffic monitoring system and GPS. Then, we established an index for supplementing incomplete data of traffic flow under hazy conditions. According to the simulation result, the proposed method based on vehicle guidance data can supplement and enrich incomplete data of traffic flow in hazy conditions.
