ABSTRACT

In this paper, based on researching the behaviour of pedestrians’ overtaking in Xizhimen and Chongwenmen subway station channel in Beijing, the characteristics of pedestrians’ overtaking behaviour are analysed, when the rear pedestrians pass the front pedestrians, considering the required space and the shortest distance. Then choosing a temporary target improves the existing pedestrian social force model. In this paper, the modified pedestrians’ overtaking behaviours based on the social force model program is compiled by MATLAB, and the reasonable model parameters are selected. Taking the Xizhimen and Chongwenmen subway station channel as the research background, the model simulation program is used to simulate the pedestrians’ overtaking behaviours in a subway station channel. The results show the effectiveness of the proposed model.
