ABSTRACT

Destackers are essential equipment in an automated logistics system, however the structure of traditional destackers is simple. In this paper, we deliver an intelligent destacker with an ARM-based laser scanner, which improves machine vision technology and makes up for the deficiencies in current research. First, we introduce the main structure and design of the destacker, including hardware and software design. The controller section, the drive section and the scanning section are then elaborated. The key techniques of the technical system, including data acquisition of goods, data analysis, imaging acquisition, automatic unpacking, are illustrated. The properties and advantages of this technology are analysed using experiments. Finally, the conclusions drawn from the experimental results are summarised. New problems and challenges, which are essential in developing more intelligent and precise automatic equipment, are also discussed.
