ABSTRACT

Optimisation is a common issue facing people in the fields of engineering technology, scientific research and economic management. This paper, taking the operational management of a pig farm as an example, makes simplifying assumptions, changes the original breeding process diagram, and takes one month as the interval to obtain the recurrence relation. According to the required targets, optimisation models are respectively established to obtain the result that seven piglets per sow per year can reach or exceed the breakeven point and three years’ total profit of 8,854,166 RMB, namely an average annual profit of 2,951,388 RMB. The whole analysis and solution process reasonably reflects the situations occurring in the operational management of this pig farm, providing theoretical support for determining its operating strategy.
