ABSTRACT

Since the publication of the first edition of this book there has been considerable activity in the field of xerography, with much attention focused on the carriers used in two-component development. These developments have not revolutionized our understanding of how carri ers work or why they are needed. There has been enough activity to tell us that they are still considered important and are necessary, especially in the most rapidly growing sector of the market: digital color imaging. Many attempts have been made to eliminate the need for carriers, an objective that might be achieved sometime in the future, but for the present these unique imaging materials seem firmly entrenched in the world of electrophotography.
