ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The aim of the study is to describe the mechanical behaviour of a rubber seal at low temperature. The seal must ensure tightness under this extreme condition. In previous studies, presented in ECCMR VIII and ECCMR IX congress, a material database was built on a HNBR and a first numerical approach was performed. To improve the description of the O-ring behaviour at low temperature, Cetim and UBS (IRDL) use an original phenomenological model, named Hyper-Visco-Hysteresis (HVH), in association with the existing material experimental characterization database. The procedure for the identification of material parameters of HVH model and the numerical results are detailed in this paper.
