ABSTRACT

152This study was mainly focused on the sunlight as sources for the photocatalytic degradation of organic dye Coralene Dark Red 2B in synthetic liquid phase. Titanium dioxide was used as catalyst in photocatalytic degradation by means of batch photoreactor. The process of decolorization and removal of organic carbon was effective activity in presence of sunlight. An attempt has been made to study the influence of process parameters namely concentration of dye, dosage of photo catalyst, and speed of magnetic stirrer on photo catalytic degradation of Coralene Dark Red 2B dye. Analysis of the degradation of dye was done by using UV spectrophotometer at wavelength of 549 nm. The appropriate selection of right operating conditions allows effective degradation of dye with sunlight.
