ABSTRACT

34Herein this chapter, Triton-X mediated facile sonochemical method for the synthesis of hierarchical ZnO microarchitectures is demonstrated. The as-synthesized ZnO architectures are characterized by variety of character- ization techniques namely, X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scan- ning electron microscopy (FESEM) coupled with energy dispersive analysis of X-rays (EDAX), ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-visible), and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. FESEM results revealed that, the as-synthesized ZnO architectures resembles hierarchical flower-like archi tectures and are built-up of large number of interconnected nanosheets in a regulated fashion which demonstrated improved transportation and diffu sion of rhodamine B (RhB) molecules during photocatalytic degradation.
