ABSTRACT

62In this study, the preparation of activated carbons from agricultural waste such as soya hull and Lantana camara stems were carried out by the chemical activation with H2SO4. The prepared adsorbents were analyzed using techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area and used as adsorbents for the removal of nand Fe 2 + $ {\text{Fe}}^{2 + } $ https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9781315225395/5d960ab3-8fcc-480f-80d7-49a862e6b0fb/content/inline-math5_1.tif"/> metal ions from aqueous solution. The adsorption data was well fitted with the use of Freundlich isotherm models and constant values were estimated for all the cases. The value of Freundlich constant (n) for various cases is ranging from 0 to 1 which is an indication of a favorable condition for multilayer adsorption.
