ABSTRACT

Steel slag is generated from the process of steel production, which has cementitious activity due to its composition of a certain amount of C3S, C2S, etc. Steel slag is often called as “Over-burnt Portland Cement Clinker”, different from the cement clinker, with calcination temperature of about 1450°C and formation temperature of about 1650°C. Relatively, minerals crystallized from steel slag are more complete and compact, leading to its slow hydration.
