1 INTRODUCTION

MR damper is a kind of variable damping controller with excellent performance. It has the characteristics of wide range of damping force, rapid response and little energy required. At present semi-active structure control with wide range of is studied. In the paper MR damper with ordinary rubber isolation bearing composed smart isolation system using LQR optimal linear algorithm for structural vibration control, and two control modes with continuous and switching regulator were applied. Through numerical simulation analysis and shaking table test research for seismic waves in different sites and earthquake force shows that this control system can provide the best control for wide frequency range motion in different sizes, and continuous regulation control mode is better switch control mode.
