Uncertain dynamic instability analysis of column subject to axial load

For the structures susceptible to bifurcation-type buckling under static loading, they may become dynamically unstable when the loading is dynamic (Farshad 1994). A typical example of dynamic instability arises in an elastic column subject to periodic axial force, which has been extensively studied (Bolotin 1964, Iwatsubo et al. 1974, Chen & Yen 1999, Sochacki 2008, Pradhan & Dash 2016).
