ABSTRACT

In reinforced concrete structure, reinforcement corrosion has the characteristics of strong concealment and imperceptibility. The influence on the structure of it is small in early corrosion. Only the corrosion product leakages to the edge of outside protective layer, the corrosion can be visible by the naked eye. Reinforcement corrosion occurrence causes disasters which is the reduction of the bearing capacity and ductility of structures. How to use effective technical means in the reinforcement corrosion monitoring and then reduce and prevent the economic loss and safety problems by it is extremely essential. Electrochemical method is the most widely used in reinforcement corrosion monitoring. Geng (2011) put forward an electrochemical evaluation method of reliability analysis on the reinforcement corrosion. But the test system is complex, workload is big and test results are vulnerable to externality. Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) has been widely applied in structural health monitoring (Pereira et al. 2013, Cazzulani & Cinquemani, 2013, Zhang & Li, 2013, Ren et al. 2014). Zhao (2011) carried out reinforcement corrosion test. Quasi-distributed measurement of corrosion was realized. Chen et al. (2015) adopted simulation of the Marine environment corrosion

As shown in Fig. 1, the thickness of the corrosion is ΔD. The tensile deformation of sensor is still similar to straight line and there is a tiny angle between the deformation and horizontal direction.
