ABSTRACT

Jacket offshore platforms are main structures for marine petroleum and natural gas exploitation. Ice moving against such structures can induce severe vibrations. At present, many experts and scholars in the domestic and overseas have done lots of works on vibration control of offshore platform. Jin & Deng (2002) researched the dynamic reliability of jacket platform under seismic loads. Ou, Long & Xiao (2002) proposed a damping isolation system. Zhang (2008) had developed a large scale TMD device and optimized the parameters of it. Huang et al. (2013a, b) have done two series of model tests to investigate the dynamic ice loads and structural responses on two types of four-legged jacket platforms. In recent years, a new structural system, rocking wall, has developed. This system can reduce the seismic effect and structural damage, or make it less or no repaired after earthquake. Zhang et al. (2012 & 2013) researched the effect of rocking-wall on offshore platform and the influence of stiffness on seismic behavior of offshore platform with rocking-wall. On this basic, the paper proposes a 1:10 scaled test of jacket platform with rocking column to simulate the dynamic performance of structure.
