ABSTRACT

The development of renewable energy sources has attracted great interests in recent years. During renewable energy fields, the wind energy is the most mature technology. Wind energy has experienced a rapid growth in past decades. However, engineering problems, such as those related to structural failure of supporting wind turbine towers, have been increasingly reported (Chen & Xu, 2016). Maintenance of the large amount of wind power faculties is going to induce significant expenses for existing wind farms. Additionally, the wind energy industry continuously develops larger wind turbines located in more challenging environments in order to increase productivity. With the increasing of turbine sizes, the vibration of support structure is becoming a challenge issue for structural design due to its slender and flexible feature.
