Planning and managing uncertainties in known broadband input vibration test

Modal identification determines dynamic properties of structures using vibration data, which allows extraction of modal parameters, such as natural frequency, mode shape and damping ratio of structures. Identifying them based on the measured vibration data is an important task often performed in vibration control or structural health monitoring (Xia et al. 2006; Ni et al. 2008; Ng 2014a).
