ABSTRACT

In recent years, the pipeline construction has developed rapidly. According to the incomplete statistic, the length of pipeline in all over the world have been reached millions of kilometers. When the pipe in service for a long time, there will be some damage such as cracks, corrosion. For protecting the people’s property safety and life, the defect detection for pipes is very important and essential. Ultrasonic Guided Wave (UGW) has been proved to be useful in pipeline detection because of its intrinsic characteristic of low energy dissipation in long-range propagation (Rose et al. 2004, Staszewski et al. 2007, Rose 2014).
