Where, σs, M, D, Es and EI represents the bending stress of the skin, bending moment at failure load, depth of the beam, elastic modulus of the skin and bending stiffness of the beam, respectively. The bending stiffness EI in flatwise and edgewise orientations can be calculated by Eq. (2) and Eq. (3), respectively.
