ABSTRACT

Rennich, 2000, Wisnom et al., 2007, Wang et al., 2000, Ding et al., 2001) or viscoelastic models (White and Hahn, 1992a, White and Hahn, 1992b, Li et al., 1997, Fernlund et al., 2003, Johnston et al., 2001, Zhu et al., 2001). Despite all these studies on spring-in, the deformation of composite I-stiffener structures has not been studied in depth. Li et al. (Li et al., 2009) studied the process-induced deformation of composite I-stiffener structures by finite element analysis. The results show that: (1) both warpage deformation and internal stresses are closely correlated with the fabrication process; and (2) the selection of different fabrication process can prominently reduce the warpage deformation and the internal stresses.
