ABSTRACT
Unsolved cases may not have been solved because of several reasons. The evidence collected at the crime scene did not point to a suspect; the crime outstripped the resources of the investigating agency; an avalanche of new cases prevented further development of leads on this case; or perhaps the physical evidence itself was not sufficiently complete to be of much use in making identification. As a result, the case went cold.
