ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT This paper proposed a remote monitoring system using wireless power-saving sensors for analyzing bridge conditions. The proposed monitoring system was developed based on the idea of “Characteristic Medical Chart” of the target bridge to enable road administrators easily understand conditions of the bridge. The sensor arrangement in the monitoring system was customized considering possible deterioration scenarios of the target bridge, and the system covers damage evaluation using various indices including phase space property of measured data and the structural parameters identification. In actuality, the target bridge has cracks in RC deck and reduction of steel plate due to corrosion damage, and the indices have been analyzed to investigate the effects of the damage and temperature changes.
