ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT Nowadays, with increasing amount of measuring instruments and data, continuous updating of information provides the basis for understanding structural characteristics and tracking the time-varying effects of the structure. Structural performance gradually deteriorates over time caused by the natural, man-made and other factors. And there is no appropriate code on the aging of the structure. Therefore, in this paper, the recent methods for updating structural time-varying information are reviewed. And on this basis, based on the bayesian method a structural information updating approach suitable for engineering is proposed. Then attempt to update the response of one cable—stayed bridge under vehicle load, and the validity of the update approach is discussed on its traffic flow transformation. In summary, in this paper the necessity of information update is discussed, and a viable approach of information inheritance is proposed for massive monitoring data.
