ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT This paper presents a comprehensive case study on the fire behavior of a large space exhibition centre under real fire scenarios. The non-uniform temperature fields of the large space exhibition centre for the designed fire scenarios have been simulated by FDS finite element package. The temperatures of the steel truss members were calculated based on the air temperature of the simulated fire scenarios. The finite element (FE) model has been developed using FE software ANSYS, modeling the structural behavior of the exhibition centre under different fire loads. Based on the numerical analyzing results, some recommendations for the fire resistance design of large space steel truss structures have been proposed.
