ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT In the polarization resistance method, a weak current is flowed through the rebar and the polarization resistance is measured by the deviation in potential from the baseline potential. To diagnose the extent of deterioration of the rebar, the measured value is multiplied by the polarized area. The extent of this area depends on the electric dispersion of the concrete. In this study, we prepared multiple specimens of different material heterogeneity, and used electric conduction analysis to explore the electric dispersion. By analyzing the change in the polarized area due to electric dispersion, we were able to use the polarization resistance method to diagnose the deterioration of the rebar.
